F1 AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX 2019Event Information

Nestled within endless rolling green hills, dirndl-clad grid girls fill the Red Bull Ring grid marking the start of the infamous Austrian Grand Prix. Best known for its lively and welcoming atmosphere, this race is where a young Niki Lauda pulled in a huge home crowd, year after year, in the mid-1970s.

Historic Moments:

  • Only nine cars crossed the finish line of the 1978 Austrian GP after torrential rain hit causing chaos. Ronnie Peterson won for Lotus while Gilles Villeneuve celebrated his first F1 podium.

  • Austrian Niki Lauda came out of retirement in 1984 to finally win his first home Grand Prix for McLaren.

  • After an 11 year break, F1 returned to Spielberg in 2014 and the brand new Red Bull Ring, which brought a wow-factor to the GP compared to its predecessors, the A1-Ring and the original circuit, the Österreichring.

The date of this race is based on the provisional calendar. Usually these dates do not change but this cannot be guaranteed until the final calendar is released towards the end of the year. If the date of the race does change, it will not affect the validity of any tickets you purchase for the event. If possible, we recommend booking any accommodation and flights/travel on a flexible basis or waiting until the calendar is confirmed.

For extra peace of mind, you can take out Booking Protection cover at the checkout and receive a refund on your booking including service and delivery fees if the event date changes and you cannot attend on the new date.
